Here is a recipe for yogurt cake:
Ingredients:
For the cake:
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 cup of yogurt
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil (such as vegetable or olive oil)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
For the yogurt frosting:
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 4 cups of powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup of yogurt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions:
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line the bottom of an 8-inch (20 cm) round cake pan with parchment paper. Grease the pan with some vegetable oil or use a non-stick cooking spray.
-
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
-
In another bowl, combine the yogurt, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
-
Gradually add the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until there are no more dry flour particles.
-
Pour the cake batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
-
Place the cake pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean with no batter sticking to it.
-
Remove the baked cake from the oven, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, and then remove it from the pan and continue cooling on a wire rack.
-
To make the yogurt frosting, mix the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Then, add the yogurt and vanilla extract, and continue mixing until well combined.
-
Frost the cooled cake with the yogurt frosting.
-
You can decorate the cake as per your preference, such as with fruits, chocolate chips, or nuts.
Your yogurt cake is ready to be enjoyed!
