The third step in the preparation of corn starch

Coarse crushing of corn
The purpose of coarse crushing is mainly to break the soaked corn into small pieces of 10 or more in order to separate the germ.
Most of the coarse crushing of corn is done with disc crushers. Coarse crushing can be done in two stages. The first time the corn is crushed to 4-6 pieces for germ separation; the second time it is crushed again to more than 10 pieces so that the germ is all off and the second germ separation is carried out.
Germ separation
Domestic germ separation is mainly done using germ separation tanks. The advantage is that the operation is more stable, the disadvantage is that it covers a large area, consumes more steel and has a low separation efficiency, generally not more than 85%.
There are also corn starch plants at home and abroad that use spin-liquid separators. This kind of separator is made of nylon, with 12 separators concentrated on a shelf, the total length does not exceed 1 meter, covers an area of small, large production capacity, high separation efficiency, up to 95% or more.
