Your yogurt cake is ready to be enjoyed

Here is a recipe for yogurt cake:

For the cake:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil (such as vegetable or olive oil)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

For the yogurt frosting:

  • 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 4 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup of yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line the bottom of an 8-inch (20 cm) round cake pan with parchment paper. Grease the pan with some vegetable oil or use a non-stick cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In another bowl, combine the yogurt, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.

  4. Gradually add the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until there are no more dry flour particles.

  5. Pour the cake batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

  6. Place the cake pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean with no batter sticking to it.

  7. Remove the baked cake from the oven, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, and then remove it from the pan and continue cooling on a wire rack.

  8. To make the yogurt frosting, mix the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Then, add the yogurt and vanilla extract, and continue mixing until well combined.

  9. Frost the cooled cake with the yogurt frosting.

  10. You can decorate the cake as per your preference, such as with fruits, chocolate chips, or nuts.
